This is my grandmother's recipe.
Dom Econ Cake
4 T.Cocoa
1/4 C. shortening
Over this pour 1/2 C. Boiling water. Cool slightly and add:
1 C. sugar
1 C. flour
Add: 3/4 t. baking soda mixed in
1/4 C. sour milk
(1 t. vinegar in sweet milk)
Add: 1 egg
1 t. vanilla
Grease and flour 9x9 pan or loaf
Bake 350 oven for 40 min.
