hi david from virginia i was reading your reciepe for fried green tomatoes and thought i'd send you my version. my grandmother fried her ripe and green tomatoes in hot oil or bacon grease and i put two bowls out and put two eggs and beat them and add milk and salt garlic pepper oka and then flour in the other bowl. i get the grease hot in the cast iron skillet and slice the tomatoes and double dip the tomatoes and cook quickly and flip over and fry the other side, add garlic salt or powder.. people in mo seem to love them. i hope i expl;ained this ok and if not let me know if i can help..joy from mo. |
