Bertie's Apple Cake

This is an apple cake my grandmother made and gave to me. It's so simple and very moist.

Mix together:
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
2 eggs, beaten
Stir in:
4 cups chopped apples

Add to the creamed ingredients and mix well:
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg

Bake in a greased 13x9-inch baking pan at 350 for 50 minutes or until done. Frost with white icing or eat as is.. very good.. joy mo.
