My mom always had wonderful unusual recipe ideas. I'd like to share one of my favorits. She would make up her meat loaf like normal, your favorite would work fine, mom's used oatmeal instead of cracker crumbs.
she would also make up a small amount of "stuffing" or figure a good suprises to stuff it with.
you put 1/2 meat loaf mix in pan then layers some treasure in it ie:
stuffing or sliced mushrooms & swiss cheese she would then top with rest of the meat loaf mix. bake as usual
We had unsual reactions. I WARN folks now, as if not warned people don't alway get it! theya re taken aback.

Oh and somthing else she would make suprise hamburgers! she'd make thin patties and put the mustard, ketchup, onion whatever in-between two. Great for bbq's!
