ISO: Hermits (fruit-cake-y)

Misc.
My grandmother (Pennsylvania-Dutch) lived in Kansas. Each Christmas when we visited her she made a dropped cookie (hermits). Have read through the recipes on the boards, but so far, no match. I remember it as being fruit-cake-y. Not in texture, but flavors. My guess is that in addition to nuts there was some kind of candied fruit. Thanks.
