FUDGE CAKE Makes 20-24 servings
2 1/4 cups white sugar 3/4 cup butter, softened 1 1/2 tsp vanilla 3 eggs 3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted 3 cups flour 1 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 3/4 tsp salt 1 1/2 cups ice water
Cream together the sugar, butter, and vanilla. Add eggs and beat well. Blend in melted chocolate.
Combine all dry ingredients & add to batter, alternating with ice water. Pour into greased 11x17-inch baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes or longer. Cool in pan on rack.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar or spread with favorite chocolate frosting. Serve. |
