This reminds me of the Fogotten Cookie recipe I posted in that it has egg whites & nuts in it & is left "alone" (this time in the refrigerator) for 6-8 hours before serving.
Soda Cracker Pie
For the pie: 14 soda crackers 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 cup chopped nuts 3 egg whites 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.Crush soda crackers. Add baking powder & nuts. Whip egg whites until stiff, add sugar gradually while beating. Add vanilla. Fold cracker mixture into egg mixture and pour into a greased pie tin. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees F. Let cool 2 hours. For topping: 1/2 pint whipping cream 4 Tablespoons powdered sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Whip cream until stiff. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread over cooled pie. Place pie in refrigerator for at least 6-8 hours before serving.
