German Drops Makes 2 dozen
2 cups brown sugar 1 cup shortening 1 cup cold coffee 3 eggs 2 tsp. lemon extract 2 tsp. vanilla extract 3 cups flour 1/2 cup raisins 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup walnuts
Mix brown sugar, shortening, coffee, eggs, and extracts. Add flour, raisins, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well. Drop by tablespoons heaping onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Do not overbake as ovens may vary. Cookie is done when springs back after pressing with finger.
