Thank you, Betsy, for both recipes. The Fannie's Mandel Bread is quite similar. The dough ingredients proportions are the same. My recipe contains juice a lemon, plus zest as well as some vanilla. The filling is different. My recipe calls for chopped walnuts or pecans. After rolling out the dough you spread it with jam (I use raspberry) then sprinkle on the chopped nuts, roll it up as described in your recipe and baked. Then cooled, sliced, and toasted with cinnamon and sugar. Will try yours sometime.
