I am 22 years-old and I remember my Nona making some really great italian dishes. She was 100% Italian and immigrated here through Ellis Island. My Mom and I have been trying to find a recipe that she used to make. We aren't sure about spelling only the way it sounds... (gabaladeena or cabaladeena with italian accent). It has maybe calamata olives or black olives, eggplant?, tomato sauce onion garlic, olive oil. It was used to dip bread in it. My Nona passed away before any of us could get her recipe written down. Everything she made was in her head or she made it up. I'm not sure if this is a traditional recipe or if she made it up... it sure was good though... If someone knows any information about this dish it would be greatly appreciated if you could post anything that would help. Thanks so much!!
