I have lost a recipe for date squares called Carnival Date Squares. A dough was made which contained oatmeal. The dates were cooked separately in water & sugar. Half of the dough was pressed into a 9 x 9 pan, then covered with the date mixture, and then the rest of the dough was pressed on top. These were delicious, and although I have tried similar recipes, nothing is quite as good as this. |
