Cindy, this is a recipe I've used many times in the last few years and everyone loves it. It has cauliflower and green onions, but you could omit the cauliflower and substitute the red onion for the green onions, no problem at all.
BROCOLLI SALAD
1 bunch of brocolli, use only the flowerets
1 head of cauliflower, " " "
1 pound of bacon, diced and fried crisp
2 bunches of green onions, sliced thin
1 cup of golden raisins
Dressing;
2 cups hellmanns mayonnaise
4 tsps. vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
Mix all together and pour over above ingredients.
I don't pour it all on at once, because you don't want it soupy. Pour about half of it on first and then add more to your taste. and if you don't use the cauliflower, you probably don't need all the bacon. Or you could use two bunches of brocolli. Lots of possibilities.
