This recipe was given to me by a friend, and it really is a great casserole. I just found the recipe in a pile of stuff to be sorted through from the past couple of years, and can't wait to make it again!
Deb's Chicken Casserole
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
8 oz (2 cups) tri-colored routini, cooked and drained
1 cup (or can) sliced water chestnuts
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2- 6 and 1/2 oz. cans of chicken, or 2 cups cooked chicken
2- 10 oz. packages frozen broccoli, cut or whole, cooked and drained.
1. Combine the soup and the sour cream.
2. Add 1 cup shredded cheese and the garlic to the soup mixture.
3. Fold in the routini, water chestnuts, green pepper and the chicken.
4. Turn into a shallow (9 X 13) greased baking dish.
5. Place broccoli on top of the casserole, and sprinkle with the remaining
1 cup cheddar cheese. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
