I'm sure that most of you experts on TKL already have a scone recipe of your own, but just in case I thought I'd post mine. They are super-tasty scones that are quick enough to make and bake before you rush off for the day!

Scones:

2 Cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbs. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 Cup sugar, plus 2-3 TBS. extra
3/4 Cup either choc. chips, blueberries, craisins, currents, etc. (be creative!)
1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon (or spice to accent your filling, I often use orange peel)
1-1/4 Cups heavy cream (can use half/half, etc.)
3 Tbs. unsalted butter, melted

Preheat oven to 425F (220C). Sift flour, baking powder, salt, 1/4 cup sugar into bowl. Mix thoroughly. mix in chips or pieces. Pour in cream and mix with a fork until just holds together. remove to a lightly floured surface and knead 10 times. Shape into a 9 in disc. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with remaining sugar. Cut dough into 12 wedges and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 12-16 min or until golden. (Watch the bottoms as they can burn easily!) Serve warm. Enjoy!

NOTE: one my favorite combinations is blueberry-orange, where I add blueberries, a little orange zest and replace around 1/2 cup of the cream with orange juice... just play around and find what you like best!
