Hi Jan,

I don't know if I'm on the right track, but I found a photo of morning buns and version I saw looked like cinnamon rolls baked in muffin cups. So, here are a couple of recipes for you to experiment with while you're waiting for a response.

Cinnamon Flake Rolls

3 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix first 7 ingredients and knead for 1/2 minute. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick. Brush with 1/2 cup butter and sprinkle with the 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon mixture. Cut into 2 inch strips and stack 5 layers high. Cut into rolls of 1 1/2 inches wide. Place in greased muffin tins. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 minutes. Source: Cookbook USA

Cinnamon Rolls (baked in muffin cups)

1 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine
2 env. yeast
3/4 cup warm water
2 eggs, lightly beaten
6 cups flour (about)
Cinnamon and sugar
Confectioners' sugar

Put milk, sugar, salt and oleo in saucepan and heat to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in 3/4 cup warm water. Add to milk mixture. Stir in eggs. Gradually add flour until firm dough is formed. Put dough in greased bowl, cover, place in warm spot, and let rise until it doubles in bulk. (Remember to have the bowl large enough to accommodate this expansion.) Divide dough into three parts for easier handling. Roll out part on floured surface and brush it with melted butter. Sprinkle generously with sugar and cinnamon. Roll up dough as if it were a jelly roll. Slice the roll in half inch pieces, and put each slice in a greased muffin ring. Let rise (covered and in a warm place) again. Bake at 325 degrees until lightly brown. While hot, glaze with confectioners' sugar to which enough orange juice is added to make an icing of the proper consistency to spread. Source: Cookbook USA
