LizaLouise,
These cookies are so good. I got them off the side of the Duncan Hines cake mix box for the Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake. If you make them I definitely recommend using this exact cake mix. I have tried it with others and it is just not as good. For the holidays you could stir in some craisins or dried cherries along with white chocolate chips, they would be so pretty. I usually bake with butter but with this recipe I use margarine and it works so well.
I have two more great recipes for chocolate chip cookies and thumbprints. They are great but I'll have to dig out the recipes!
Chunky Chocolate Cookies 1 package Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix 2 eggs 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts Preheat oven to 350 ºF.
Place cake mix, eggs, butter, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large bowl. Stir with spoon until thoroughly blended. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by level measuring tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.
Bake at 350 ºF for 12 minutes for chewy cookies (cookies will still be puffed) or 14 minutes for crisp cookies. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheets. Remove to cooling racks. Cool completely. Store in airtight container. Makes 3 1/2 to 4 dozen cookies.
