Lefsa
3 c water
1 c cream
4 c flour
2 tsp salt
8 tbsp shortening
boil water, cream and 4 tbsp shortening. pour over flour; stir. then add 4 more tbsp shortening. cool. roll and bake. serve with butter and sugar.
cream lefse
1 c cream
2 c milk
1 tbsp melted butter
3 c flour
1 tsp salt
place first three ingredinets in saucepan and scald. pour over flour and salt in mixing bowl. stir and mix well. divide into about 12 to 16 pieces. roll out as you would pie crust. bake on pancake griddle
Hardanger Lefse
1/2 c shortening
1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
3 c buttermilk
2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
flour (app 3 c)
mix shortening and sugar. beat eggs slightly. mix in. add buttermilk and soda. add flour to roll. bake on hot griddle. will be thicker and softer than other lefse. serve with butter and sugar
