Hi Melinda,
These cookies were "found" in a cookbook titled Cooking on Extended Benefits.
My family loves them! The raisisn are soft and the cookie is more like a
shortbread. Enjoy!

Raisin Puffs
1 and 1/2 cups raisins
1 cup water
1 cup margarine
1 and 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 and 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Boil the raisins in the water until the water is completely gone. Raisins should
be soft and puffy. Allow them to cool. Cream together sugar, eggs, margarine,
and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well and add raisins to
this mixture. Shape into balls and roll in additional white sugar. Bake 15
minutes at 350^F. Makes 6 dozen.
