My Mom brought these to our Cookie Exchange a couple years ago. They're very good.
Pecan Crisps
1 1/2 cups flour 1 cup sugar 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup shortening, softened 1 egg, separated 3 Tablespoons milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup pecans, finely chopped
Heat oven to 375. Sift flour, sugar & salt into a bowl. Mix in shortening, egg yok, milk & vanilla thoroughly with fork. Form dough into balls the size of a small walnut. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Press 1/16" thick with greased bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Brush with slightly beaten egg whilte. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake 8-10 minutes. Do not over bake. Makes about 5 dozen.
