Hi Jeanette/NY:
I think the cupcake wedding cake idea sounds like so much fun. This has been talked about here on Recipe Link in the past. Here are a few links and ideas previously posted by other folks have provided. I personally like the picture that shows the cupcakes frosted with tube/piped frosting. It is elegant and would be so much easier than frosting and decorating each cupcake. I hope these help. _____________________

You may use a cake stand with a center post construction or 2 or 3 cake stands of graduated sizes, one atop another. The cake stand or plates can be lined with lemon leaves or similar size leaves that the cupcakes are placed on. The cupcakes can be decorated with frosting and flowers that match type and colors used for the wedding. I found that too much red gives the appearance of Christmas Tree -- avoid this unless your wedding is in Dec. I have created this using the stand with each cupcake in the same color paper cup (placed in AFTER baking) and frosted with white butter cream. Each one is then adorned with a flower made from buttercream, royal frosting, and rolled fondant flowers. The flavor of the cupcakes may be several different ones or all the same. I have wish you luck, and enjoy.
