Chocolate Ice Box Cake

1 cake yeast dissolved in 1/4 cup warm water
1 cup shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
2 cups sugar
1/4 teas. salt
3 eggs
1 cup milk
3 cup all purpose flour
2 oz. melted semi-sweet chocolate

Cream sugar and shorteing very well, add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add dissolved yeast and milk, add the dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Beat very well. Add chocolate last and beat well.

Grease large form cake pan well, put the dough in the pan and refrigerate overnight.

Next day put pan in oven and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350F. No need to preheat oven.

The more you beat this cake the better and lighter it will be. I seem to remember my mom baked it in a tube pan. Frost with any cocoa frosting recipe.
