This is from the 1955 Wesson Oil Cookbook-Quicker Ways to Better Eating.
Wesson Oil Brownies
3/4 cup all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 3/4 teaspoon salt 2 eggs 1 cup sugar 1/3 cup Wesson Oil 2 squares (2 ounces) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 cup coarsely cut nuts
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Sift dry ingredients together. Beat eggs, add sugar in 3 portions, beat well after each addition. Add Wesson Oil, chocolate and vailla. Add flour mixture all at once and mix well. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into oiled 8x8x2 in pan, spreading evenly.
Bake about 30 minutes. Remove from oven, place on wire rack to cool in pan. Cut into squares. 16 brownies
