Yes it would work for other mixes and pie fillings -- the original cherry dump cake that I had been thining of when I addapted the Blueberry one is even easier -- but not as moist

1 cake mix
1 can cherry pie filling
2 eggs

mix up in a 9x13 pan and bake

Now I was playing when I did the blueberry one and to be honest the blueberry pie filling was a last minuite thought -- that is why I had already put in the eggs and oil the box said to put in ... I think that added a lot The water was an after thought as well.

So yes you can improvise -- and I have many times, I just put up the blueberr one cuz it was sooooo different!
