Brownies from Ruth War Time Edition.
1/2 cup sifted cake flour 1/4 tsp. baking powder Dash salt 3 tbsp. shortening 1/2 cups sugar 2 tbsp.corn syrup 2 tbsp. strained honey 1 egg, beaten 1 ounce square chocolate, melted 1 tbsp. hot water 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup pecans chopped
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together.
Cream shortening with sugar until fluffy. Add honey and syrup and continue creaming. Add egg and mix well. Add dry ingredients, melted chocolate, hot water, and vanilla; blend well. Mix in pecans and spread into greased 8-inch pan.
Bake at 350 about 20 minutes.
