I have a recipe for Amish Friendship Bread. My question is can I make a starter from my recipe by taking 1 c. flour, 1 c. sugar, & 1 c. milk (that's what I add on day 6) & go from there counting it as day 1? In this recipe, I keep the mixture in a ziplock bag & squeeze the bag each day. I've already beun this & today will be day 6. Do you think it will activate or should I start over. I saw one recipe in the archives that called for yeast to get things started & it also said to leave the mixture uncovered. Thanks in advance for your help! Linda |
