APPLE COOKIE SHEET CAKE
FOR THE CAKE: 3 cups flour 3 cups chopped fresh apples 2 cups sugar 1 1/2 cups canola oil 3 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon butter flavoring (optional) FOR THE FROSTING: 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened 1 teaspoon vanilla 8 tablespoons margarine 4 cups powdered sugar
TO MAKE THE CAKE: Put all ingredients for the cake in a bowl and mix at once. Pour into a lightly greased 11x16-inch jelly roll pan.
Bake at 325 degrees F for 35-45 minutes. Cool cake in the pan on a wire rack.
TO MAKE THE ICING: Mix ingredients for the icing together.
Spread icing over cooled cake. Cut into squares to serve.
