JUBILEE JUMBO COOKIES
1/2 cup shortening 1 cup brown sugar, packed 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 cup evaporated milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 3/4 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup pecans, chopped BURNT BUTTER GLAZE: 2 tablespoons butter (not margarine), browned in pan 1/4 cup evaporated milk 2 cups powdered sugar few drops vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease cookie sheets.
Mix shortening, sugars and eggs. Stir in milk and vanilla.
Sift together flour, soda, salt; stir into mixture. Blend in pecans. Chill 1 hour. Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheet using 1 tablespoon dough for each cookie.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350 Degrees F.
Frost with Burnt Butter Glaze.
TO MAKE THE GLAZE: Mix all and spread on warm cookies.
