ONE-BOWL BROWNIE SQUARES
4 squares (1 ounce each) Baker's Unsweetened Chocolate, chopped 3/4 cup butter 3 eggs 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
Partially melt chocolate and butter in microwave oven on medium for 3 minutes. Stir until butter and chocolate are completely melted.
Add eggs; beat until well blended. Stir in sugar, flour and nuts. Spread in prepared baking pan.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Add one of these variations:
VARIATIONS:
ROCKY ROAD: Mix 2 cups miniature marshmallows and 1 cup Baker's Semi-Sweet chocolate chips. Sprinkle over top of hot baked brownies. Cover pan with foil for 5 minutes until marshmallows are softened.
PEANUT BUTTER SWIRL: Reduce butter to 1/2 cup and add 1/4 cup crunchy or smooth peanut butter when melting with chocolate. Bake as directed above. Remove brownies from oven and drop spoonfuls of peanut butter and 2 squares chopped Baker's semi-sweet chocolate over top while hot. Swirl with a knife.
TRIPLE CHOCOLATE: Mix chopped pecans, Baker's semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Sprinkle over top of brownies while hot. Cover pan with foil for 5 minutes to soften.
MACAROON: Mix 2 1/2 flaked coconut, 1/4 cup butter, 2 tablespoons milk and 2 tablespoons sugar. Microwave on High 1 to 2 minutes, mix well. Spread over batter. Bake as directed above.
