ISO: Powder dry brownies help!

Misc.
I made brownies from a recipe found on a cocoa can, I followed them carefully and when finished cut them and found them to be as dry as a bone. They seemed to turn to powder and I went back over my recipe and again it was followed carefully, question can cocoa powder go bad, baking powder what could have happened? is there a fix?? for this if it happens? something that can fix my mistake without it being the end of my brownies?
