Dear Phyllis,
I do believe I have found the recipe you have requested. The notes and comments are from the original poster.

I saw the recipe in the current Paula Deen Magazine and just had to try it. OMG... it's so good and so moist!

FUDGE CAKE

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
1 cup cola flavored carbonated beverage (um, Coke lol)
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 13x9x2 inch baking pan (I used Pam, it's fine).

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, and baking soda. Set aside.

In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and whisk in cola, buttermilk and beaten eggs. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil (be sure to keep stirring or the eggs will end up scrambling a little... I didn't and ended up having to strain it when it was done). Stir in vanilla.

Pour batter into prepared baking pan. Bake 25-30 minutes or until tester inserted in center comes out clean. Pour Fudgey Cola Icing over warm cake.

FUDGEY COLA ICING

1/2 cup butter, melted (1 stick)
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 Tablespoons cola-flavored carbonated beverage
1 (16 oz) box of confectioners sugar

In a large bowl, combine melted butter cocoa powder and cola. Using an electric mixer, gradually beat in confectioners sugar.

YUM
