This was just the right combination of chewy and crunchy. It has been a good while since I made pizza, but I saw "the sisters" (Podleski) working their magic on TV, taking on a high fat, high calorie pizza and making it more healthy. I just had to give this a whirl.

For the toppings I used pizza sauce (one I zipped together) and turkey sausage, mushrooms, red onion, and turkey pepperoni. And cheese, of course!

Cheers!

Carolyn!

PIZZA CRUST USING WHOLE WHEAT AND FLAX SEED

This makes enough for 2 (12 inch) pizza crusts, in the breadmaker on the dough cycle.

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
4 TBSP flax meal (ground flax seeds)
2 tsp instant yeast
1 tsp salt
1 1/3 cups water
1 TBSP olive oil
1 TBSP liquid honey
cornmeal

Load ingredients into breadmaker and set for "dough" cycle.

Roll out into 2 circle-esque shapes and place onto whatever the heck kind of sheet/stone baking thingy you use for pizza. I personally like the pizza pans with all the holes for crispy pizza crusts, sprayed first with a bit of Pam, and then sprinkled with cornmeal.

Spread with a bit of sauce, and then a bit of cheese, and then your ingredients followed by a bit more cheese.

I hope you like this, I will be making it again soon.
