As an escape from my 1 year old twins my husband and I escaped to an Italian cooking class and loved the taste of fresh pasta. I purchased a pasta machine (Imperia) and then had to decide how to make my pasta. Having young twins does not give me a lot of spare time so I read about making pasta in a bread machine. It works wonderfully.
I just make standard pasta as follows;

400g flour (I use standard flour rather than high grade)
4 eggs (I use free range mixed sizes)
4 pinches of salt

I put all the ingredients into the bread maker (I have a Morphy Richards) and turn on using the dough setting. When it finishes it's first mixing (mine takes 20 minutes) I shape into a ball and wrap up in flour dusted gladwrap (clingfilm). I leave for 30 minutes or so and then put through the pasta machine.

If I want ot make more or less then I just use 100g flour/1 egg/pinch of salt.

Any extra I either make into ravioli or put in the freezer once I have run it through the pasta machine and dusted it well with flour, or my husband takes the finished product for lunch.

I recently was making some Christmas Mince tarts for a mid year Christmas dinner and used the bread maker to make the pastry. It worked perfectly though use a little less water than you would by hand.
