APPLE RAISIN SQUARES

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup applesauce
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup canola oil
1 apple, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch dice (about 1 cup)
1/3 cup golden raisins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly oil or coat 8-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.

Whisk together flour, whole-wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and cloves in large bowl. Set aside.

Combine eggs, applesauce, sugar, oil, and apple in separate bowl and whisk together until well blended. Pour liquid ingredients over dry ingredients and stir until just moistened. Stir in raisins. Pour batter into prepared baking dish; smooth with a rubber scraper.

Bake 30-35 minutes, or until top is golden and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
