German Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies -- #1
TOPPING: 1 c. sugar 1 c. evaporated milk 1/2 c. butter, soft 1 t. vanilla 3 egg yolks, beaten 1-1/2 c. coconut 1-1/2 c. chopped pecans
COOKIES: 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix 1/3 c. melted butter
In heavy 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter, vanilla and egg yolks. Blend well. Cook over medium heat for 10-13 minutes or until thick and bubbly, stirring frequently. Stir in coconut and pecans. Remove from heat. Cool to room temperature. Reserve 1-1/4 c. topping; set aside.
In large bowl, combine cookie ingredients and remaining topping mixture. Stir by hand until thoroughly moistened. Do not grease cookie sheet. Heat oven to 350. Shape dough into 1" balls, make indentation with thumb in center and fill wit 1/2 teaspoon reserved topping mix. Bake at 350 for 10-13 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes and remove. YIELD: about 5 dozen cookies
German Chocolate Cookies #2
1 box Pillsbury Plus German Chocolate cake mix 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/2 c. rolled oats 1/2 c. raisins 1/2 c. margarine, melted 2 eggs, slightly beaten
Combine all ingredients. Drop by teasponful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes or until set. Cool 1 minute and remove from pan.

1 c. shortening (1/2 oleo, 1/2 shortening) 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. white sugar 2 eggs 1 t. vanilla 2-1/2 c. flour 1 t. salt 1 t. soda Chips (1/2 chocolate, 1/2 German chocolate) 1 c. chopped nuts
Mix and bake on greased cookie sheet. Check time by baking 1 cookie for 9-10 minutes at 375, 10-12 minutes. (?????)

2 squares unsweetened chocolate 1 pound German sweet chocolate 1/2 c. chopped nuts 1/2 c. shredded coconut 2 c. corn flakes 1 t. vanilla
Melt chocolate over hot water. Add other ingredients. Mix well. Drop by teasponsful onto waxed paper. Chill.
