Hi Judy Lee! I know this is kind of late, but I just got this new cookbook, called
Ultimate chocolate by Patricia Lousada, and I saw a recipe for Chocolate
Banoffee Pie. This seems to be a little involved, but it looks worth the time.
Chocolate Banoffee Pie

For the filling :
2-14 oz. cans sweetened condensed milk
5 oz.(150 g.) bitersweet or semi-sweet chocolate,melted
1/2 cup ( 125 ml.) heavy cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract

For the crust :
4 cups ( 260 g.) graham crackers, crushed
6 TBSP. ( 90 g.) lightly salted butter,melted

For hte topping :
3 small ripe bananas
1 1/4 cups (300 ml.) heavy cream,whipped
semi-sweet,white and or milk chocolate curls for decoration
cocoa powder , to dust on top for decoration

Preheat oven to 350 F. / 180 C. Grease a 9" ( 1 1/2" deep)loose bottom tart pan.

To Caramelize sweetened condensed milk:

Oven method; Pour 1 can sweetened condensed milk into 9 inch pie plate. Cover
with foil; place in larger shallow pan. Fill larger pan with hot water. Bake at
425 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until thick and caramel colored. Beat until
smooth.

Stovetop Method: Pour 1 can condensed milk into top of double boiler; place over
boiling water. Over low heat, simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until thick and caramel
colored. Beat until smooth.

Microwave Method: Pour 1 can condensed milk into 2 quart glass measure. cook on
50 % power (medium) for 4 minutes, stirring briskly every 2 minutes until smooth.
cook on 30% power (medium-low) 12-18 minutes ot until very thick and caramel
colored, stirring briskly every 2 minutes until smooth.

CAUTION; NEVER HEAT UNOPENED CAN

Remove from heat and cool.

For crust, mix together the graham crackers crumbs and melted butter.Turn
out into prepared pan, pressing into even layer, sides and bottom.
Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack, then chill
until needed.

For rest of filling, cool the melted chocolate until lukewarm. Whisk the cream
until it's just thick and fold it into the chocolate. Fold in the vanilla
extract. Spoon this mixture into cooled crust, spreding evenly. Chill until
filling is set.

Pour the caramelized condensed milk into a bowl and whisk or beat until smooth.
Spoon over the chocolate layer in crust and chill until ready to serve.

Finish topping before serving. Slice the bananas and arrange over the
toffee layer. Spoon the whipped cream over bananas. Pile on the chocolate
curls and finish with a light dusting of cocoa powder.Serve immediatley.

**** this step can be done the day before and refrigerated till needed.
I hope anyone will let me know if they try this, I think it sounds great!!!
