Chris (my Malaysia fiance) told me it spells as "Kuih Lapis" for Malay and "Kue Lapis" for Indoesian. All teh recipes I found under the 2 terms only show recipes in Indoesian (as this is of Indonesia origin.) If you don't like the one I got for you (that's from a Malaysia chef.) Then you can find the Indonesian version and perhaps Carol (currently in Jarkata)or Chris can help you. :-)
