CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE
1 1/2 cups butter or margarine, softened 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened 3 cups sugar 6 large eggs 3 cups all-purpose flour Dash of salt 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Beatbutter and cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer 2 minutes or until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating 5 to 7 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating just until yellow disappears.
Combine flour and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating at low speed just until blended. Stir in vanilla extract. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
Bake at 325° for 1-1/2 hours or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes; remove from pan, and cool on wire rack.
Makes 1 (10-inch) cake. |
