From what I understand the eel was used instead of beef in the pie or on the side, jellied. The "liquor" they speak of is parsley liquor, the recipe is listed in my second post. I'm not sure, but that's what I understood from the websites I looked at. I googled pie mash recipe. Let us know how your weekend cooking comes out! Micha
