ITALIAN EASTER DOUGHNUTS
5 cups flour or more 1 tsp. baking powder 6 large eggs 8 tbsp. sugar 7 tbsp. oil 2 tbsp. whiskey Pinch salt
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly grease a cookie sheet. Bring a pot of water to a boil on the stove. Fill a bowl with cold water; set aside.
Place flour and baking powder in a large bowl or on a bread board. Make a well in the center.
Beat eggs, sugar, oil, whiskey, and salt together and pour into the well in the flour. Mix all together. Be sure that the dough is not hard.
Roll into ropes and shape into small rings. Lay on floured tea towel.
Drop into boiling water 3 or 4 at a time, watch that they don't stick together; turn. When they float - take out, and drop in cold water. Take out and put on floured tea towel
Bake about 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
