Here's an excellent recipe. It is virtually fat free:
Chocolate Cake
3 cups flour (all-purpose) 6 Tblsp cocoa 1 tsp salt 2 Tblsp vinegar 2 cups warm water 2 cups sugar 2 tsp baking soda 2 tsp vanilla 3/4 cup applesauce
Mix all ingredients together. Pour into 2 8" layer pans or 1 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes (longer for rectangular pan) or until center springs back when lightly pressed.
This cake can be served frosted or plain--it's really moist. If you plan on leaving it in the pan, you don't need to grease/flour the pan. If you want to make sure it will flip out, I would grease/flour the pan. |
