BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES GIFT MIX
Yield: 1 gift

1 (1-quart) wide-mouth canning jar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 3/4 cups packed brown sugar

Step 1: Wash and thoroughly dry the canning jar.

Step 2: Layer the ingredients in the jar in the following order: flour, salt, baking powder, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Press firmly with a flat-bottomed object, such as a tart tamper or the bottom of a narrow glass, after each addition. Make the layers as level as possible.

Step 3: Secure the lid and decorate as desired with ribbon or fabric. Attach the instructions (see recipe below) for making the bars.

BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES
Yield: 24 bars

Nonstick cooking spray
1 jar Butterscotch Brownies mix
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Coat a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.

Step 2: Pour jar of brownie mix into a medium bowl and stir ingredients to break up and combine. In a large bowl, beat together butter, eggs and vanilla on the low speed of an electric mixer until well combined. Stir in Butterscotch Brownies mix until well-mixed. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan. Batter will be thick.

Step 3: Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
