There seems to have been a lot of cobbler recipes posted recently and I would love you to try our favorite. Here in Michigan we are beginning a delightful season - rhubarb in in now and soon there will be strawberries, and blueberries, raspberries, cherries, peaches(our favorite), and then apples in the Fall. This cobbler is great for any fresh fruit or mix them up-that's great, too. I think you will enjoy the rich cake-like topping.

FRUIT COBBLER

Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan
Preheat oven to 350 deg.
Line bottom of pan with fruit of choice (at least 6 cups)
Cover fruit with a batter of:
2 sticks (1 cup) margarine or butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
Mix 1 1/3 cups sugar and 3/4 cup water and stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour over batter.
Bake for 1 hour.

I hope that you enjoy this as much as we do.
