Recipe(tried): Soup , Salad and Bread Day.... Yucatan Carrot...

Dear Gina in Fla, the Yucatan Carrot Soup sounds wonderful, but before I make it I wanted to confirm that it is indeed 30 minutes and not 3 minutes the sauted vegetables, crushed pepper flakes and cumin are sauted before the liquid is added. The 30 min. seemed long for sauteing without drying out or for toasting spices. Thanks for a response. I generate lots of chicken broth each week and can't wait to try the recipe.
