Gina, I went to my set of Southern Living "The Southern Heritage" cookbooks and found this. If your pie didn't have a meringue, let us know and I'm sure we can find something that fits the description.

Old Southern Tea Room Lemon Icebox Pie

1 cup vanilla wafer crumbs
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
vanilla wafers
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
4 eggs, separated
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar

Combine vanilla wafer crums and butter; press into bottom of a lightly greased 9-inch pieplate. Line sides of pie plate with whole vanilla wafers; gently press into bottom layer. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cool.

Combine milk, egg yolks, and lemon juice; mix well. Pour into prepared pieplate.

beat egg whites (at room temperature) until foamy. Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form. Spread meringue over filling, sealing to edge of piecrust. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until meringue is golden brown. Cool to room temperature. Chill. Yield: 1 9-inch pie.
