I got my first slow cooker a few years ago when I first started hanging about this board.

Now I have three...and would you believe I had them all going at the same time the other day?

split pea and vegetable soup in one
a couple of blade steaks on a bed of onions in the next...
and mashed potatoes (set to "warm") in the third one (this was kind of an experiment, because on X-mas day I would like to have one with vegetables (red cabbage and blueberries), one with the dressing, and then I wanted to see how the mashed potatoes turned out if prepared ahead of time and kept on warm (and it was fine, BTW)
