Hi Everyone!
Tonight I tried making homemade pizza and it was a success! My DH gave it the "thumbs up" approval. I had to make it half and half as he likes pepperoni and green peppers with pineapple and I like spinach, ricotta, mozzarella and garlic. I used a large cookie sheet sprayed with PAM.
I used Pillsbury Classic Pizza Crust on the recommendation of my good neighbor and friend, Carol. The bottom crust browned nicely without burning, it was not greasy and it had a pleasing taste. This can be found in the refrigerated section of the grocer's.
I used Ragu Homemade Style Pizza Sauce, and that gave it good flavor. It is a nice, red, robust sauce bursting with natural flavor. No artificial aftertaste at all.
On my side I used baby spinach leaves, crushed garlic, and mozzarella cheese sprinkled all over.
On his side, I used the Ragu sauce, then the pineapple tidbits, green pepper pieces, mozzarella and pepperoni slices. I then sprinkled oregano all over and baked in oven for 18 minutes at 400.
I can see making pizza with all sorts of toppings baked in 2 pans for appetizers for a party in the future. It was fun, easy and quick.
Happy Cookin' Gina
