Chicken and Dried Tomatoes over Fettuccine

1 (8oz) jar dried tomatoes in oil -- undrained
1 small onion -- chopped
2 cloves garlic -- minced
4 skinless boneless chicken breast halves -- cut in strips
3 tablespoons chopped fresh or 1 tbl. dried basil
1 cup half-and-half or fat free half-and-half
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 ounces fettucine -- cooked
Drain tomatoes, reserving 1/4 cup oil; coarsely chop tomatoes. Saute onion and garlic in 2 tbl reserved oil over med-high heat until tender. Add chicken, and cook, stirring occasionally, 6 min. or until chicken is done. Add tomatoes and basil, and cook, stirring occasionally, 2 min. Stir in remaining 2 tbl. tomato oil, half-and-half, salt and pepper. Toss with hot cooked pasta.
