I hope you do get a chance to try them, Gina. The cabbage came out so tender and sweet in the slow cooker, too!
Up here in the Pacific Northwest, we are just coming into fall. It hasn't been much of a summer, I am sad to report! Yesterday it really poured all day, an ominous portent of what is to come in a couple of months, or so. Today is ok, not too bright, but hey! not raining! Good enuf for me!
September is always spectacular, so I am looking forward to that! Also, a chance to clean my house without anyone underfoot. Altho everyone has been gainfully employed this summer, as Luis says, the taxman's gonna love us!
Next week, the boys are back to school, one off to college, and the other finishing high school. But both still at home (and eating me out of house & home, too!) When I don't have anyone but Luis and myself to cook for, whatever shall I do? Yes, we are approaching the end of an era!
We are planning a 2 week trip to Cuba in February, with some friends. Any thoughts? Of course, we will spend a few days exploring La Habana Vieja; as the unofficial tour guide, I will make sure of that!
Have a great day, my sweet Gina, I am off to work shortly!
con abrazos,
Carolina!
p.s. just printed off my passport apps to fill out at work when it is quiet...got the photos done last week :-)!!
p.p.s went berry picking with my DS and posted a recipe for blackberry almond bread on the cooking club board...but it would be good with any berries you might be able to scrounge up! Cheers!
