I live in Missouri, and we make succotash fairly often in
the summer. Laura Ingalls Wild has a recipe for it in a cookbook
gathered from her recipes after her death, and in my opinion she's
a great cook - hers contains green beans and corn and is called Missouri
Succotash! This is the recipe I have in my scrapbook/cookbook:

Succotash

1 1/2 c hot cooked or canned whole-grain corn
1 1/2 c hot cooked or canned lima beans
2 T butter or margarine
1/2 c light cream
salt
pepper

Combine ingredients, adding salt and pepper to taste, and heat.

I usually stew corn on the cob, and steam frozen lima beans. the way I
stew corn: cook corn on the cob in boiling water about 1 minute, then
cut from cob, add bit of milk (you can use water) and let simmer, covered,
until just tender (usually about 5 minutes.) Season with salt/pepper and
butter.

I hope this helps!
Val
