All-At-Once Spaghetti Serves 3-4 Recipe doubles great.
My family loves this. When my children were still at home I usually made this at least once a week. It's very easy and "cheap". I hope you will try it and enjoy it.
1/2 lb ground beef 2/3 cup chopped onion 1 tbsp oil 1 clove garlic, minced 1 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 1 tsp dried parsley 1 tsp dried basil 2 cans (8 oz each) tomato sauce 1 1/2 cups water 1 small can mushrooms (optional) 1/4 lb uncooked spaghetti (1/2 of an 8oz pkg) grated cheese
In a Dutch oven cook ground beef and onion in the oil until the pink is gone. Add the garlic and cook a few minutes longer. Drain or skim off excess grease. (I find if I use a good lean ground beef this is usually not necessary.) Add salt, pepper, parsley, basil, tomato sauce, and water; blend well. Add mushrooms and bring to a boil. Break spaghetti in half; add to sauce and gently fold into the sauce. Lightly cover; reduce the heat to simmer; cook for 20-25 minutes or until the spaghetti is tender. Do not over cook!! Serve with grated cheese.
This spaghetti warms up great in the microwave. As a matter of fact my family likes it better the next day.
